Who is The Science Mum?
I’m Monica, mum to Mr J and self-confessed science geek. I live in Hertfordshire with my husband Chris on a strange cul-de-sac of firefighters and their families (more on that later in the Blog).
When I became a mother I was overwhelmed by the amount of conflicting advice on caring for babies. Through meeting other mums I realised that the thing we all seemed to have in common were feelings of guilt and confusion over what we “should” be doing.
I’ve been an Editor of scientific journals and a Medical Advisor in the pharmaceutical industry. My work involved trawling through scientific literature and summarising the research in digestible form. Through my Blogs and Instagram feed, I hope to do the science bit for you and present the evidence so that you can make informed decisions about what’s right for you and your baby. Oh, and I’ll include some of my own stories and anecdotal evidence along the way.
